Video component of the HPSCHD installation for the 2010 exhibition The Anarchy of Silence: John Cage and Experimental Art at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art.
The content of the installation was based on John Cage’s own HPSCHD (pronounced “harpsichord”) performance held on May 16, 1969 at the University of Illinois. Held a month before the first manned landing on the Moon, the original performance incorporated film footage borrowed from NASA which depicted views of the Earth and Moon from orbiting spacecraft.
